\"[copertina]\" Nella quarta di copertina (o era nell’introduzione) di questo libro (William Strunk Jr. e E. B. White, <a href="The Elements of Style<\/em><\/a>, Longman 1999, pag. 109, Lst 8,99, ISBN 978-0-205-31342-6) c’\u00e8 scritto che \u00e8 l’unico manuale di scrittura che \u00e8 entrato nei bestseller in lingua inglese. Sicuramente il libro ha la sua voce sulla Wikipedia in inglese<\/a>, dove in effetti raccontano che le varie edizioni hanno venduto complessivamente dieci milioni di copie.
\nVantaggi: il testo \u00e8 breve, poco pi\u00f9 di cento pagine. Svantaggi: il testo \u00e8 naturalmente scritto per gli anglofoni, e alcune delle regole sono inutili per chi non deve scrivere nella lingua di Albione. Poi ci sono anche i linguisti che si lamentano perch\u00e9 il testo \u00e8 troppo prescrittivista, ma questo non ci interessa pi\u00f9 di tanto. La terza parte, quella sullo stile di scrittura (e che non faceva parte del testo originale…) \u00e8 probabilmente la parte meno utile, nel senso che tanto vale andare a cercare qualche libro che tratti apposta il tema. Quella che a mio giudizio vale di pi\u00f9 \u00e8 soprattutto la seconda parte, sull'(ab)uso di certi stilemi che spesso si replicano pari pari in italiano; ma anche nelle regolette della prima parte ce ne sono molte che non sono tanto legate a una specifica lingua ma proprio allo stile di scrittura, come “evita le negazioni per quanto possibile” oppure “non essere generico”.
\nInsomma il libro non sar\u00e0 la panacea per imparare a scrivere, ma \u00e8 comunque utile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
