\nNella saga siamo arrivati a quota trenta libri (pi\u00f9 i cinque definiti “for young readers”, probabilmente perch\u00e9 qualcuno si lamentava della troppa prolificit\u00e0 del Nostro). Nel Discworld questa volta (Terry Pratchett, Thud!<\/em><\/a>, Corgi 2006 [2005], pag. 455, Lst 6.99, ISBN 0-552-15267-9) ci si trova a rischiare una guerra tra troll e nani, e solo il Comandante Vimes potr\u00e0 trovare una soluzione, sempre che riesca a venire a patti con il suo Disorganizer con la tecnologia Bluenose™ e a raccontare ogni sera la storiella “Dov’\u00e8 la mia mucca?” a suo figlio. Ah s\u00ec, dovr\u00e0 imparare a giocare a Thud!, il gioco da scacchiera favorito dalle varie specie che vivono ad Ankh-Morpork. Rimettendosi a leggere i primi libri della serie, si vede come le trame siano completamente cambiate: molta meno magia – tanto per i nostalgici dello stile per il momento c’\u00e8 ancora Harry Potter – ma in compenso ci si lancia a improbabili paragoni col Codice da Vinci<\/em>. Il guaio, si fa per dire, \u00e8 che la lettura \u00e8 sempre piacevole, e Pratchett ormai si diverte a far vedere le cose di oggi con la lente del Discworld.
