Io sapevo che Dolly Parton era una famosissima cantante country. Sapevo anche che qualche anno fa aveva fatto un album “rock”, tra cui una versione di Let It Be<\/a> con guest star Paul e Ringo. (Mi stupisco che non ci sia mai stato un duetto con Ringo, noto amante del country&western, tipo quello con Buck Owens<\/a>). Fine.<\/p>\n

Oggi vedo la parte americana della mia bolla Twitter piangerla in modo bipartisan, cosa assolutamente incredibile in questo momento storico (un sondaggio dava un suo apprezzamento netto del 65%, contro il 14% di Barack Obama, il 3% di Taylor Swift’s, il meno 19% di Donald Trump e il -18% di Joe Biden’s), e scopro che Dolly Parton \u00e8 stata una filantropa: tra le altre cose la sua Imagination Library forniva ai bambini da 0 a 5 anni un libro al mese. E nonostante le sue affermazioni a favore dei matrimoni omosessuali e delle persone trans, si \u00e8 sempre tenuta lontana dalla politica, rifiutando la Medal of Freedom sia da Trump che da Biden. Un suo commento<\/a>: “Mi vedo pi\u00f9 come una diplomatica, una di quelle persone che ti dicono di andare all’inferno in un modo da non farvi vedere l’ora di intraprendere il viaggio.” E ci sono tutte le altre belle cose che vengono a galla solo ora.
