\"la I Beatles si sono formati nelle lunghissime sessioni di Amburgo, dove toccava loro supnare per ore consecutivamente. Questo significava allungare a dismisura i brani, manco facessero jam session jazz; ma significava cercare tutti i nuovi brani americani sconosciuti e riarrangiarli per la loro formazione, che per esempio prevedeva cori maschili che non erano di moda (tanto che spesso pigliavano brani Motown per gruppi femminili<\/b>: pensate a Please Mr Postman<\/i>, per esempio, o addirittura Boys<\/i> a cui non hanno nemmeno cambiato il testo).<\/p>\n

Tutto questo lavoro ha fatto s\u00ec che i Beatles diventassero degli esperti arrangiatori, pur non avendo un’educazione musicale formale. Prendiamo per esempio How Do You Do It?<\/a><\/i>, che George Martin voleva fosse il primo singolo dei Beatles salvo poi decidere di pubblicare Love Me Do<\/i> (ma quella \u00e8 un’altra storia, che racconter\u00f2 prima o poi). Mitch Murray aveva composto il brano, e questo<\/a> dovrebbe essere l’arrangiamento da lui pensato. I Beatles hanno preso il brano, l’hanno odiato, ma hanno fatto comunque il loro compitino: qui<\/a> sentite la versione da loro registrata. \u00c8 chiaro che non avevano nessuna voglia: basta sentire la voce di John e confrontarla per esempio con la sua prova in Ain’t She Sweet?<\/a><\/i>. Ma se fate attenzione all’arrangiamento, \u00e8 parecchio diverso da (e a mio parere migliore di) quello originale. Lo stacchetto alla fine del ritornello per esempio non \u00e8 nulla di che, ma d\u00e0 un colore diverso a tutto il brano che diventa pi\u00f9 roccheggiante. Certo, potrebbe esserci stato lo zampino di George Martin, ma ho dei forti dubbi, sia per la sua formazione classica che per il suo lavoro in Parlphone che era pi\u00f9 legato a novelty songs (pensate per esempio ai Goonies). E quando Gerry and the Pacemakers portarono il brano in cima alle classifiche, sfruttando l’onda lunga beatlesiana, l’arrangiamento<\/a> \u00e8 stato quello dei nostri…<\/p>\n
