Presumo che Van Bummelen sia la massima autorit\u00e0 mondiale sulla storia della trigonometria: diciamo che per un povero piccolo matematico come me la quantit\u00e0 di materiale presente \u00e8 semplicemente troppa, e me ne sarebbe bastata la met\u00e0 per avere un&#8217;idea completa di cosa \u00e8 successo, soprattutto nella ricerca delle approssimazioni per riuscire a calcolare il seno di un grado che era il sacro Graal dei calcolatori (umani, ovvio).
