Star Trek (la serie originale, TOS) non dovrebbe mai essere presa sul serio per le trame degli episodi, che sono cos\u00ec anni ’60 da risultare ormai solo divertenti. Per\u00f2 la serie \u00e8 stata importante per tante altre cose: non ultima la presenza come coprotagonista del tenente Uhura, una donna nera nella plancia di comando di un’astronave. (Nichols raccont\u00f2 poi che voleva lasciare la serie dopo la prima stagione, ma venne dissuasa da Martin Luther King che le disse che era un role model, e che Star Trek era una delle pochissime trasmissioni che faceva vedere ai suoi figli proprio per mostrare loro che i neri possono arrivare a fare cose che sembrerebbero loro precluse. Quello che \u00e8 certo \u00e8 che Nichols \u00e8 stata poi una fenomenale testimonial per la Nasa, oltre ad essere sempre stata amatissima dai fan. Purtroppo negli ultimi anni \u00e8 stata colpita da demenza senile, tanto che il figlio ha citato il suo agente per malversazione. Addio, Uhura, verso la frontiera finale.<\/p>\n
