\"copertina\" In un certo senso questo (Frances Hodgson Burnett, Il giardino segreto<\/a><\/em> [The Secret Garden], Giunti 2011 [1910], pag. 352, € 8,50, ISBN 9788809768642, trad. Giorgio van Straten) per me \u00e8 stato un audiolibro, nel senso che mio figlio (prima media) doveva leggerlo come compito scolastico e l’ho costretto a leggerlo ad alta voce per sincerarmi che lo facesse davvero. Ha strepitato dall’inizio alla fine, e oggettivamente non posso dargli troppo torto, anche se mi sono guardato bene dal farlo. Il problema non \u00e8 la traduzione di Giorgio van Straten, che nonostante la scelta di mantenere uno stile da inizio ‘900 \u00e8 scorrevole. \u00c8 proprio il libro che segue in peggio lo stile didascalico del deamicisiano Cuore. Burnett era una convinta assertrice che lavorare in campagna facesse bene alla salute, e ha scritto il libro per dimostrarlo. Sar\u00e0, ma io non me la vedo proprio Susan Sowerby tutta felice con dodici bocche da sfamare: probabilmente Burnett conosceva pi\u00f9 che altro il proletariato americano del sud. Ad ogni modo ritengo che il mondo possa andare avanti anche senza leggere questo libro.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
