Ho scoperto da Slashdot<\/a> che David Fifield ha creato un file .zip di 46 MB che, se qualcuno cercasse di scompattarlo, creerebbe un file di 4,5 PB. Non \u00e8 un errore di stampa, si parla proprio di peta<\/b>byte, cio\u00e8 di milioni di gigabyte o se preferite miliardi di megabyte. In realt\u00e0, come spiega meglio questo articolo di Vice<\/a>, queste bombe zip erano note da decenni ma c’era una specie di trucco: una volta scompattato il file, ci si trovava davanti un mucchio di altri zip da scompattare a loro volta, e cos\u00ec via per un certo numero di livelli. L’esempio pi\u00f9 noto \u00e8 un file che si chiama (chiss\u00e0 come mai…) 42.zip, e che se volete potete scaricarvi<\/a>. Pare invece che l’approccio di Fifield, anche se meno “performante” di quest’ultimo, abbia il “vantaggio” di non essere ricorsivo, riuscendo comunque a superare il massimo rapporto di compressione teorico di 1032:1 nelle specifiche sovrapponendo all’interno dello zip i vari pezzi da estrarre.
