Ieri sera ero l\u00ec bello tranquillo a cazzeggiare al pc prima di preparare la cena, quando su Friendfeed leggo questo messaggio<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Ho verificato che l’autore, Benjamin Golum, era effettivamente un ex sviluppatore di FriendFeed che ora \u00e8 in forze a Facebook, e ho commentato NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Dopo un paio d’ore, man mano che la gente aveva udito la notizia e stava commentando, il sito era definitivamente gi\u00f9. (Spero stamattina sia tornato su…)<\/p>\n

Chi mi conosce lo sa bene: per me Friendfeed era una casa. Certo, come del resto avevo scritto poco tempo fa, erano cinque anni e mezzo che girava pi\u00f9 o meno unattended, e aveva perso buona parte delle sue feature iniziali: poter radunare in un unico posto tutti i feed RSS delle persone. (Ma d’altra parte sembra tanto che RSS non sia pi\u00f9 di moda: provate a tirare fuori un feed da Facebook o da Google). Certo, molti degli entusiasti guru che lo animavano i primi due anni se ne erano oramai andati a uno a uno, perch\u00e9 “non c’erano pi\u00f9 gli altri per cui valeva la pena starci”. Io sono notoriamente di bocca molto buona, e su FriendFeed ci sono sempre stato bene. Lo usavo in maniera non standard (relativamente pochi amici e ancora meno “stanzette”, cio\u00e8 gruppi di discussione informali; in compenso seguivo gli amici degli amici). Ci trovavo tantissima rumenta che nascondevo immediatamente, e tante discussioni che magari finivano in vacca ma prima (e dopo) mi davano una serie di informazioni che non avrei trovato cos\u00ec facilmente altrove. Ho conosciuto (virtualmente, in ogni senso) tante persone che non avrei mai incontrato altrove: Friendfeed era piccolo, e quindi era molto pi\u00f9 semplice incontrare persone con interessi simili, non foss’altro che perch\u00e9 chi era interessato a starci doveva avere comunque interessi strani :-)<\/p>\n

Ecco. Come far\u00f2 senza tutto questo?<\/p>\n

P.S.: ovviamente il fatto che il numero di utenti di Friendfeed sia in costante declino (vero o falso che sia) non \u00e8 la causa della chiusura. Il sito non ha pubblicit\u00e0, quindi il numero di utenti \u00e8 irrilevante. I costi maggiori per Facebook sono quelli dello storage per ospitare immagini e video: la parte di testo vero e proprio \u00e8 irrilevante…<\/p>\n

Aggiornamento<\/b>: (09:50) ovviamente non tutti hanno la mia stessa idea: ecco un parere opposto<\/a> di Enrico Sola. Che dire? Io usavo ben poche stanzette chiuse (Frenfigli per parlare dei nostri bambini, per esempio) e stavo ben lontano dalle stanzette di perculo (che c’erano e ci sono, e non sono necessariamente nascoste).
