\"[lettera<\/a> Oggi \u00e8 il Towel Day<\/a>, e come tutti gli anni ho postato (altrove) una foto con l’asciugamano di ordinanza. Per\u00f2 quest’anno volevo raccontarvi una cosa.
\nNel 1992 era stato tradotto (per la prima volta) in italiano Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency<\/i>. Io mi ero comprato il libro (in inglese) non appena era stato pubblicato e l’avevo apprezzato (per un anno o due ho persino usato come mio alias Richard McDuff… ma questo non se lo dovrebbe ricordare nessuno) Ricordo ancora quando lessi la scena della cavalla nel bagno del professor Chronotis, con il professore che balbetta “Yes, it is, Wait – let it be. It won’t be long” al che Richard risponde “Lei ha un cavallo nel bagno e tutto quello che sa fare \u00e8 pronunciare titoli di canzoni dei Beatles?”; nella pagina successiva, alla domanda di Richard “ma come pu\u00f2 esserci una cavalla nel suo bagno”, Chronotis risponde “Well, the bathroom window’s open. I expect she came in through that”. Ero sul 62 barrato che mi stava portando in Cselt; credo che gli altri passeggeri siano rimasti perplessi nel vedermi capottare dalle risate.<\/p>\n

Essendo abbastanza feticista mi ero per\u00f2 anche preso l’edizione italiana, e ne rimasi assolutamente deluso. Passi non aver capito quel gioco di parole, ma tradurmi “the Divine John wrote the book of Revelation” con “il divino Giovanni scrisse il libro della rivelazione” era troppo. Per sbollire, decisi di scrivere direttamente a Douglas Adams (c\/o Pan Publishing) per segnalargli questa triste notizia. Beh, dopo un paio di mesi ricevetti una risposta direttamente firmata dal Nostro! Non so se la lettera l’avesse scritta lui oppure no, per\u00f2 rimasi comunque piacevolmente stupito del pensiero…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
